As an independent treatment centre (zelfstandig behandelcentrum, ZBC), we are affiliated with ZKN and follow the billing rules of the Dutch Healthcare Authority (Nederlandse Zorgautoriteit, NZa). This means that our invoices always meet the applicable requirements, so you can be sure that your healthcare costs are handled clearly and fairly.

DBC fees
Our list of fees is based on the national DBC fees set by the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa). We bill and invoice in the form of DBC care pathways.
DBC care pathways have a fixed duration, which can vary between 90, 120 and 42 days. In addition, for fertility treatments a follow-up DBC care pathway may be opened if the patient returns for further treatment in her next cycle.
Invoices
If your health insurer has a contract with us, the costs are usually billed directly to the insurer. With non-contracted health insurers, or for treatments without a medical indication, you will receive an invoice at home, which must be paid within the stated payment term. You can then submit this invoice to your health insurer, who will reimburse part of the costs (depending on your policy conditions).
Invoices must be paid within the stated payment term.
Invoicing for male-female couples
We regularly receive questions and complaints about invoicing for male-female couples. It is important to know that both partners are regarded as individual patients within the fertility treatment, which means that separate medical procedures take place and are invoiced separately. This approach is in line with national guidelines and insurance conditions.
Consultations during treatment
When you start treatment with us, a DBC is opened. Within fertility care, a distinction is made between an F11 DBC care pathway (consultations, with or without ultrasound) and an F21 DBC care pathway (treatments and/or procedures). This DBC is billed after the end of your treatment cycle.
Consultations outside treatment
Once an F11 or F21 has been closed, a follow-up F11 or follow-up F21 DBC care pathway can be opened where applicable. Consultations that take place outside a treatment cycle (for example, consultations after a completed treatment and before a new treatment) are placed in a separate DBC. This DBC is only closed after 120 days. This means you may still receive an invoice for these consultations after 4 months.
Telephone consultations
Telephone consultations may count towards the costs of the DBC. A telephone consultation in which we only share a result is not billed. All other telephone consultations replace an appointment at the outpatient clinic and are registered as follows: “190162 Telephone consultation replacing a follow-up outpatient visit“.
