Gorinchem I Roadworks: allow for diversions and extra travel time

News

From Thursday 24 September to Monday 28 September, the Merwedebrug bridge on the A27 near Gorinchem will be completely closed. As a result, our clinic in Gorinchem may be harder to reach from some directions. We advise patients to plan their journey carefully before setting off and to allow extra travel time.

When will the roadworks take place?

Thursday 24 September 21:00 to Monday 28 September 05:00

The Merwedebrug bridge on the A27 will be completely closed in both directions. During this period, traffic will not be able to use the A27 between Werkendam and Gorinchem.

If you are travelling to our clinic from Brabant or the Land van Altena in particular, you will face a diversion. Extra congestion is also expected on surrounding roads, including the A15. Extra travel time may be up to around 60 minutes. Heavy traffic disruption is expected especially on Friday 25 September.

Diversions

Traffic from the direction of Breda to Gorinchem and Utrecht will be diverted via routes including the A59, A16 and A15. Adjusted routes may also apply from other directions. Follow the yellow diversion signs and the latest directions from your satnav.

Getting to Nij Clinics Gorinchem

Our location in Gorinchem remains accessible during the roadworks. Coming by car? Plan your route shortly before you set off and allow extra travel time.

Roadworks are also taking place on several surrounding motorways on the same weekend. As a result, your satnav may suggest a different route from the one you are used to.

So always check the current traffic situation before you leave via Rijkswaterstaat or your navigation app.
