As of 1 April 2025, the Donor Data (Artificial Fertilisation) Act (Wet donorgegevens kunstmatige bevruchting, Wdkb) has been tightened: the number of families that may be treated with sperm from a single donor has been reduced from 25 children to 12 families. Clinics now use unique donor and mother codes to monitor this strictly and guarantee traceability.
The Donor Data Board for Artificial Fertilisation (College Donorgegevens Kunstmatige Bevruchting, CDKB) is responsible for the central registration of all treatments. Together, we are contributing to even safer and more transparent donor care.
